Company History
Boutique Trims was founded in 1968 by a mother and daughter team to provide products and services to those involved in the hobby of eggery (creating decorative, often jewel-encrusted ornaments from empty eggshells, in the tradition of Carl Faberge.)
As the company grew, and began to supply general crafts to independent craft stores, the eggery portion of the business was sold to an employee. (Egging supplies can still be found at TrimsII.) Two retail craft stores were then opened to meet the demands of the crafting public.
The company continued to grow and expanded into giftware, dollhouse miniatures, silk flowers, and costume jewelry components.
In 1999 the company was sold to the next generation. Eventually miniatures, crafts and flowers were discontinued as products and jewelry components got its own division: Accent Factory. Shortly thereafter Seasonal Expressions was created to handle retail giftware.
Giftware eventually gave way to retail beading and jewelry products. Seasonal Expressions now has six retail locations in southeast and mid Michigan.
In 2006, Boutique Trims acquired American Cyber Services which provides custom software development and information technology consulting services.
